Welcome!

27th March 2018, Cinema Jeff! The third of a series of interviews with Jeff about his art, shot on site from the "opulent luxury" of his backyard shed...

9th August 2018, Tributes to Geoff

We have also received this drawn tribute to Geoff from American cartoonist Tom Kerr.

Welcome to Geoff "Jeff" Hook's web site. Featuring a weekly cartoon, cartoon archives, book details, and other art work, there's plenty to see and you can still order artworks through the services page.

We are no longer running current work on the website as Geoff finally laid his brushes to rest on the 20th July, 2018, after more than 50 years as an Australian cartoonist and artist. Don't go away though! We've still years' worth of cartoons yet to be shown, so we are publishing one cartoon a week and while they may not have been drawn yesterday, you will probably note that, perhaps, in the world of politics, not a lot has changed...

The next cartoon will be up on 26th April with more to follow!

Feature Galleries:

The Whitlam Government. A tribute to one of Australia's most remarkable Prime Ministers. Relive one of the most turbulent times in Australian democracy and a great period of joy for cartoonists! Wonder as years of conservative rule end, thrill as Parliament is first broadcast live on television, despair at the collapse of the Government's finances, and gasp as the Government is dismissed and loses at the polls. Don't miss the Whitlam gallery.
Views of Victoria and Tasmania. A further 27 paintings have been added to the realist art gallery, featuring works from some of Geoff's recent exhibitions. See the gallery here.

The funeral of Prince Philip is held in England. A look back...

Now let's not get too carried away! - 15th March 1973

After opening the Sydney Opera House Queen Elizabeth 11 returned to London for the General Election in the United Kingdom. The Duke of Edinburgh stayed on to complete the tour. On 28th February Gough Whitlam spearheaded the lowering of Australia's voting age from 21 years to 18 years. Was Whitlam being tempted by other changes such as the British First-past-the-post system?

There was also much emphasis on the preservation of Australian natural areas as the Green movement took off.

Left-Right. Duke of Edinburgh, Billie Sneddon, Vince Gair, Doug Anthony.

Can't find the hook?
