Australia has a new Prime Minister.The fifth change of the Office in five years. On Monday 14th September Malcolm Turnbull was elected as Leader of the Federal Liberal Party by 54 votes - 44 to replace the incumbent Leader and Prime Minister Tony Abbott who resigned on the morning of Tuesday 15th September.

Australia's National Broadcaster the ABC had a record number of viewers during the several hours as the successful changeover played out.
