Off and away...

On 11th December, 2013 the announcement is made by General Manager Mike Devereux that Holden Australia will be closed down by 2017. The iconic Australian car has been made in this country for 67 years.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott and his government face a new wave of difficulties as workers in South Australia and Victoria will have to find alternative jobs as will many people in the auxiliary industries.
