Transplants limited for smokers.

Surgeons at the Alfred Hospital announce that as smokers have poorer survival prospects in theatre and in the longer term they were precluded from a range of procedures including lung transplants.

The ban is supported by the president of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Bruce Barraclough.
