Tolerance!The population of the State of Victoria felt the pain as Liberal Premier Jeff Kennett introduced measures (many of them unpopular) to restore the State's finances. State Australian Labor Party Opposition Leader John Brumby also worked to re-vitalise his party after the election defeat in October, 1992. John Brumby had succeeded Jim Kennan as leader after his resignation. He had left the Legislative Council and stood for the Lower House Legislative Assembly seat vacated by Jim Kennan. |
