Prime Minister Paul Keating was laying plans to battle the deficit and the outcomes of 'the recession we had to have'.

The One Nation policy promised income tax cuts and had reforms to match the Liberal Party's Fightback program. After Keating won the 1993 election the tax cuts were repealed but put into superannuation.
