The cracks begin.

On November 9, 1989 at midnight East Germany's communist leaders gave permission for the Berlin Wall to be breached after 28 years of separation between East and West Germany. Physical pressure from converging crowds from both sides had echoed the warming of relations between both East and West and was due also to the moves of leaders such as USSR's Mikhail Gorbachev and many western leaders.
