It's your mess, you deal with it!

Between 1956 - 1963 nuclear tests had been undertaken by British interests at Maralinga in remote South Australia. Around the 1980s some partial provisions were made for clean up but British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and her agencies were reluctant to agree to the total clean-up costs of the contaminated area.

By 2003 remediation work included the burial of much of the nuclear waste. There is the question of whether more work needs to be done!
