This was the first presidential debate between Republican Ronald Reagan and Democrat Walter Mondale in the 1984 election for President of the USA. Considered memorable because of the strong presentation of both candidates as well as the superb communication skills shown by Reagan. This was a time when rules of debate and preparation of candidates were not so extensively tailored to the medium.
