Trouble in Beirut.

The Lebanese Army, with heavy defections of many Muslim and Druze units to militias, collapsed in February 1984. U. S. troops pulled out shortly after with the March 5th cancellation of a 1983 agreement between Israel, Lebanon, and the United States that the U.S. would stay in Lebanon until Syrian troops had withdrawn.
