The march of the elephants.

Forward thinking and support by the Liberal Government led by Rupert Hamer at this time has seen the introduction and maintenance of a successful breeding program for elephants and other animals at Melbourne Zoo in Victoria.

However in the area of the state's infrastructure and on the political front the same government was having trouble sorting out the proverbial 'white elephants'!
