Spreading one's wings.

An informal meeting of the South Pacific Forum had been arranged by New Zealand Prime Minister Robert Muldoon and was held on the 8th and 9th March at Rotorua.

As more links were gradually forged with China Robert Muldoon made a visit to China later in April. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser followed in June.
