The Tower Bombing.

On July 17, 1974 Dorothy Household was killed in a no-warning IRA bomb explosion at the Tower of London just after 2 PM. The explosion occurred in the basement of the eleventh-century White Tower, the oldest building in the complex. In total 41 people, many of them children, were rushed to hospital after the blast. Of the injured, 14 were in a serious condition.

"The Little Princes" refers to the the two sons of Edward IV of England who were in the Tower and mysteriously disappeared. They were said to have been murdered.
