Won't someone think of the dogs!

February 1974 was the start of 5 day a week delivery to Australia's letterboxes and was a big change from the 6 day a week service from the Post Master General's Department.

Australia already had mechanised sorting of mail and articles but delivery to customers depended on postmen on bicycle and foot.
