All Aboard!

Qantas passenger traffic and revenue increased enormously during the early 70's. This was despite huge increases in the cost of aviation fuel. The success was due to both the Qantas introduction of cut price fares on major overseas routes that attracted travellers in huge numbers and also approval of the fares that was given by the British Government.

At the time there was some speculation how the discounted fare prices had been achieved.
