The infamous Apartheid Policy practised in South Africa led to a Sports Boycott campaign by many countries. Led by Britain, South Africa was banned from the 1972 Olympics and in Australia the South African Cricket Tour of Australia 1971/1972 was part of the boycott.

Meantime the fate of Australia's Indigenous People was often ignored at home.
