Meeting the people!

As Apollo 13 still heads towards the moon, the Nixon administration announces budget cuts to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration which kill off the program to send people to Mars. A look at what our Martian friends will be missing out on!

As it happened, so did our Lunar friends - a malfunction that occured shortly after this cartoon was published meant the lunar landing was cancelled.
