Poetry...

The new Liberal Prime Minister Harold Holt and his wife Zara were to be offered traditional pies as part of the VIP Flight menu. A parody of Robert Menzies quote from a Thomas Ford poem "I did but see her passing by and I shall love her till I die" after meeting Queen Elizabeth II.

Responsibility for the caption of this cartoon lies with one of Geoff's then colleagues, word smith David Rankine, who seeing the pie announcement came up with "I did but see her passing pie"... Sensing an opportunity Geoff asked permission to use the quote, which was given happily and the cartoon was the result.
