Not today!

The plethora of nuclear tests taking place was a cause for world wide concern. In September the Soviet Union had resumed nuclear testing, breaking the moratorium and conducting the largest series of tests ever seen. Both France and the United States also conducted tests. Meanwhile a group in Queensland were claiming aliens were about to visit the Earth.

Note: This cartoon was originally published in "The Mercury", the local paper for Hobart, Tasmania. At the time Geoff was hiding a rhubarb tin rather than a hook in his cartoons.
