Greens Senator Larissa Waters called for adult gift givers to avoid 'stereotype' presents for children and consider a 'no gender' December in preparation for Christmas giving.

Responses on many fronts were palpable. South Australia's Liberal Senator Cori Bernadi suggested that 'common sense' is the judgement most needed.
