A great man departs.

The world is saddened by his death but celebrates the the life of South African hero and first black president Nelson Mandela who died on December 5th, 2013. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 jointly with Frederik Willem de Klerk "for their work in the peaceful termination of apartheid". His long battle to achieve freedom for himself and for South Africans of all race and colour is legendary.
