A Competitive Market!

At the COAG meeting in April, 1995 attended by Prime Minister Paul Keating and Treasurer Ralph Willis the National Competition Policy package of measures was adopted by the State Premiers to reform commitments in areas of electricity, gas, water and road transport.

Later in the year on June 7, 1995 Paul Keating reinforced his republican views in his speech "The Australian Republic - the Way Forward".
