Isabelle Autissier Rescued

French solo yachtswoman Isabelle Autissier was rescued by Australian Defence Forces after four days in her disabled yacht, battling high winds and waves, from freezing waters 1500 kilometres south-west of Adelaide in the Southern Ocean. While Isabelle's life was the all important consideration, the expense of the operation and how it reflected Government spending in other areas did not go unnoticed.
