After many coups and changes a constitutional revision finally introduced non-discriminatory Provisions in 1997 and a return to The Commonwealth of Nations.

Meanwhile, back in Australia, early elections were looming and opposition Liberal leader John Howard was waiting to announce their proposed tax policy.
