Just digging a hole...

Ian Sinclair became the new leader of his party on 17th January 1984 and remained so until 9th may, 1989. Under his leadership the erstwhile Country Party of Australia changed its' name to the National Party of Australia.

At that time Sinclair had a very poor relationship with his Coalition Opposition leader Andrew Peacock while Labor Prime Minister Bob Hawke was well and truly the leader of the push in politics. Each year the Australian Masters Tournament was held at Huntingdale Golf Club South Oakleigh Victoria. In 1984 Greg Norman was the winner that PGA Tour season and won the tournament ahead of David Graham and Bernard Langer.
