Sorry! I don't think so...

Lady Sonia McMahon, wife of Prime Minster Sir William McMahon had found manners wanting amongst the Australian population. The Crimes Act (Taxation Offences) 1980 put an end to 'bottom of the harbour' schemes. Liberal Treasurer John Howard, and Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser in the Taxation (Unpaid Company Tax) Assessment Act 1982 was trying to introduce retrospective fines. Democrat Senator Don Chipp thought that the purpose was for the best reasons, but was strongly against introducing retrospective laws.
