A challenge announced.

On July 17, 1980 Californian Governor Ronald Reagan made his Acceptance Speech to the Republican Convention to run for the office of 40th President of the United States of America against encumbent Democrat Jimmy Carter. Carter lost to Reagan after his one term as 39th President.
