Coming through!In August 1978 a section of Bourke Street, Melbourne was closed for the development of the Bourke Street Mall. There was much controversy about whether the trams would still be allowed to travel through the pedestrian Mall. Liberal Premier Sir Rupert Hamer won the argument and the trams continued to transport passengers. |
