Competition!

In 1978 the VFL (Victorian Football League - home of the Australian Rules Football code) had applied unsuccessfully to hold Sunday matches. Meanwhile the popularity of the Soccer Football code was growing rapidly.

The preacher is a caricature of Allen Aylett who was a notable player and later became one of the most important administrators in VFL-AFL football.
