Don't lose your head!

Australian Liberal leader Malcolm Fraser had been appointed care-taker Prime Minister by Governor General Sir John Kerr. Royal assent had been given on Kerr's advice. Gough Whitlam - still leader of the Australian Labor Party - had been out maneuvered and had lost his position as Prime Minister. An election was later declared for December 13, 1975.

The 11th November is also observed as Australia's Remembrance Day for all those Australians who have died in war.
