The end of the television licence.

All Television and Radio licence fees for the public were abolished in 1974 by the Australian Labor Party.

The introduction of colour television was taking place and was to be introduced on March 1, 1975 and households were keen to obtain a 'Colour TV', Labor Prime Minister Gough Whitlam was a keen user of the medium. FM radio was to be introduced.
