Road block.

A Department of Aboriginal Affairs had been created by the Labor Government of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam. Marchers were protesting against the suspension of Aboriginal leader Charles Perkins from the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and there was a strong call for land rights.
