A bad omen...

Disgraced USA Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned on October 10, 1973. The USA Justice Department had uncovered evidence of his corruption which included allegation of acceptance of bribes. Gerald Ford was appointed as Vice President by Congress on December 6, 1973. He later bercame President in 1974 when Richard Nixon resigned.
