Now let's not get too carried away!

After opening the Sydney Opera House Queen Elizabeth 11 returned to London for the General Election in the United Kingdom. The Duke of Edinburgh stayed on to complete the tour. On 28th February Gough Whitlam spearheaded the lowering of Australia's voting age from 21 years to 18 years. Was Whitlam being tempted by other changes such as the British First-past-the-post system?

There was also much emphasis on the preservation of Australian natural areas as the Green movement took off.

Left-Right. Duke of Edinburgh, Billie Sneddon, Vince Gair, Doug Anthony.
