Aboriginal Embassy Torn Down.

After the 1967 referendum Aboriginal Affairs had remained in the background and policies were not forthcoming during the Liberal Government of William McMahon. The first tent Embassy outside Federal Parliament House Canberra was set up on 26th January - Australia Day, 1972. It was torn down in a violent clash with Police on the 20th July 1972.
