Made it!

On July 20th 1969, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon, the third member of the mission, Michael Collins, remained in lunar orbit piloting the Command Module.

For the curious, back then the squiggle through the caption was the traditional way of an editor indicating he had read it! The five smaller characters in addition to the hook are Jeff and his four sons, with a can of rhubarb (an old favorite from the Jeff's time at the Mercury) thrown in for good measure. It was quite a day.
